CURRENT JOB OPENINGS:

Managing Director, Research Services, Public Sector

Market Connections seeks a senior market research professional with account growth and management experience. As a Managing Director, you will manage multiple accounts and oversee the implementation of research projects from conception through client presentation. You will also build, lead and develop a high performance team of four to five research professionals. This position will service public sector agency accounts, with a focus on federal agencies, and includes account growth, development and client relationship management responsibilities. The right person for the job will embrace the opportunity to run a business within a business and be rewarded for your efforts. You will be responsible for your own team P&L and be willing to roll up your sleeves to make a measurable impact on the public sector business segment.

The Managing Director will identify customer needs; assist in the study design and proposal development process to address customer objectives. You will be responsible for supervising your team of managers and analysts on various tasks including questionnaire development, qualitative and quantitative analysis of results, development of conclusions and recommendations, development of written and PowerPoint reports for distribution to clients, and leading the presentation of results to clients. You will be expected to be billable approximately 30 - 40% of the time on high-value client activities such as project scope and design and final implications and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as strategic confidante and consult with clients to identify new research requirements
  • Work with proposal team to design, develop, price and present research proposals
  • Act as research subject matter expert/sales engineer on an as needed basis for new account acquisition activities conducted by Business Development Director
  • Manage and execute all team research initiatives and client projects, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Develop and articulate insights and learnings from the research and communicate to clients
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports
  • Contribute to initiatives such as continuous improvement of Market Connections processes , lunch and learns, and other administrative functions
  • Speak at industry conferences

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's desired
  • 10+ years practical, relevant experience in business to business market research, preferably supplier side
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing and developing direct reports and building a high performing team
  • Demonstrated experience managing and growing client accounts
  • Advanced competency in research design and analytical analysis (SPSS preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams and senior management
  • Well-organized and focused with the ability to manage and work diligently on multiple research projects
  • Detail-oriented but able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial, flexible and fast-paced environment

Market Research Manager

As a Market Research Manager, you will serve as a project team lead for moderately complex projects with multiple methodologies or components. The Research Manager maintains a broad range of research and project management duties and is fully involved in every aspect of the marketing research process from start to finish. You will: identify client needs, develop proposals and research strategies, design surveys and moderator guides, monitor data collection, analyze data results, create reports to include research findings, summary, and client specific recommendations and conclusions, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or statistics with a research concentration, Masters preferred
  • Four-to-eight years of professional experience in market research
  • Experience with custom research projects to include: survey design, data analysis, report writing, creation of visual presentations (charts and graphs), and presentation to clients
  • Advanced competency in qualitative and quantitative research design
  • Analytical skills and an ability to make relevant and insightful conclusions based on data results
  • Proven experience with coordination of multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines and working productively and efficiently under pressure
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and growing client accounts
  • Strong communication and people skills; a history of working well with co-workers and clients
  • Advanced competency in research design and analytical proficiency in SPSS and Microsoft office suite programs (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

Senior Market Research Analyst

As a Senior Market Research Analyst, you will be fully involved in every aspect of the marketing research process from start to finish. You will: review project requirements, develop proposals and research strategies, design surveys, analyze data results, answer client questions, write reports with conclusions and recommendations based on research findings, and lead client phone calls and meetings.

Market Research Analyst - Supplier Side

Under the supervision of a Sr. Manager, you will be fully involved in every aspect of the marketing research process from start to finish: review project requirements, develop proposals, design surveys, program online or telephone surveys, manage data collection, analyze data results, answer client questions, write topline and final reports, create presentations, write conclusions and recommendations based on research findings, and participate with Sr. Manager in client phone calls and meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or statistics with a research concentration
  • One-to-three years of professional experience in market research; supplier side preferred
  • Experience with custom research projects from the design phase through the finished product, to include: survey design and sampling, data analysis, report writing, visual presentations (charts and graphs), and presentation to clients
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience conducting web-based secondary research
  • Analytical skills and an ability to make relevant and insightful conclusions based on data results
  • Proven experience with coordination of multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines and working productively and efficiently under pressure
  • Communications and people skills; a history of working well with co-workers and clients
  • Proficient in SPSS and Microsoft office suite programs (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

Market Research Intern

Market Connections is seeking a sharp business student to support market research activities. The intern will work closely with the market research staff to:

  • Provide project support by assisting with survey data analysis, transcribing of in-depth interviews, secondary research and the creation of reports and presentations using MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • In addition, a secondary responsibility of the intern will be to assist the marketing director in organizing and executing marketing events, updating the website and managing contact data in a customer database.

The individual must exhibit attention to detail, produce high-quality work, and be able to work to deadlines. The individual should be comfortable in a collaborative environment, but must also be able to work and produce results independently. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to think critically. Advanced knowledge and experience of Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint. SPSS experience is a plus.
