While the FedPulse blog is known for shining a light on the successes of federal contractors with its “Winning Contractor” series, a new site is doing something very similar, but for government agencies.
The GovTransformer site showcases key accomplishments in the area of emerging IT happening on the government side. The site recently ran a post about how the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is embracing next-generation mobility solutions.
Under the strategic leadership of Rick Holgate, CIO of the ATF, the agency is building a robust infrastructure that supports smartphones and tablets to provide e-mail, browser and legacy desktop tools using virtualization. These new mobility efforts can certainly serve as the ideal case study for other agencies looking to maximize the performance of their workforces.
