ASRC Federal InuTeq (ASRC Federal) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC), which is a family of companies that provide mission-critical services to federal government agencies dedicated to defense, civil and intelligence support.
ASRC, Alaska’s largest owned and operated company, was established in 1972 after Congress passed the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. ASRC is an Alaska Native Corporation owned by approximately 11,000 Iñupiat shareholders. With the company earnings, these shareholders help develop and sustain their villages and the Iñupiat way of life.
On July 7th, ASRC was awarded the High Performance Computing Modernization Program’s Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN) contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center. The five-year contract, consisting of a base year plus four annual options, has a maximum value of nearly $88 million.
“We are excited for the opportunity to support one of the world’s premier research, development, test and evaluation networks,” said Mark Gray, president and CEO of ASRC Federal. “We are committed to helping our customer achieve mission success by supporting technologies that enable battlefield superiority for the warfighter.”
The High Performance Computing Modernization Program’s operation requires top-level technical and professional support elements that ASRC Federal will provide. ASRC Federal’s network engineers and subject matter experts will focus on running DREN operation centers, ensuring the security, availability and reliability of the network.
The DREN enables defense researchers located throughout the country to access DoD supercomputing resources to design solutions to complex problems and develop new technologies critical to national security.
The company and new executives are keeping our DoD resources up-to-date with the latest technologies, a mission-critical element in securing the U.S. and its warfighters.
As a result, we are pleased to announce that ASRC Federal is this week’s Winning Contractor. Stay tuned for more posts about contractors proving to be nimble in the face of challenging times in our “Winning Contractor” series.
