Harris IT Services, a division of Harris Corporation, provides cutting-edge communications systems and information networks that are highly reliable and secure for government agencies and beyond. The organization’s voice, data and video allow military and government agencies to advance their missions more efficiently and effectively.
For example Harris IT Services provides the backbone for the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI), which offers critical voice, data, and video communications for operations and mission support functions. It is the IT network that ensures that more than 87,000 flights per day and 2 million air passengers arrive safely to their destinations.
The company won this $331 million contract for this work in September 2012 with 10 one-year options that could extend the duration of the program to 2029.
In addition, since the program’s inception, Harris IT Services has supported and implemented the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes of the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). As the world’s largest purpose-built IP network, this unique IT platform services more than 700,000 sailors, marines, and civilians in the U.S., Hawaii, and Japan.
In addition, Harris IT Services was recently awarded the U.S. Air Force’s Network-Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2) Application Services contract, which has a potential value of $960 million. The company will provide range of IT products and services support, including sustainment, migration, integration, training, help desk, testing and program operations.
Wayne Lucernoni, President, Harris IT Services, was recently interviewed by WashingtonExec, where he discussed the main drivers for the organization’s success: [pullquote]“We have a great leadership team, we have strong customer relationships, and our programs are executing very well, so strong performance overall. We are optimistic about our future growth. Our professional services are what really define us; our execution and quality are first rate.”[/pullquote] “We have a great leadership team, we have strong customer relationships, and our programs are executing very well, so strong performance overall.
