Winning Contractor: Symantec Continues to Protect Government Data - (Archived)

Security is at the heart of everything Symantec does—secure apps, secure data, and secure devices. The company has a long history of protecting sensitive systems via a variety of products from storage and clustering to network backups.

Symantec products can be found throughout the government via licensing agreements with value added resellers, such as DLT Solutions. For example, DLT Solutions won a potential five-year, $322 million blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for Symantec product licenses and related support services to the Department of the Navy (DON).

DLT also built an online customer portal where DON and Marine Corps users can view, request and order Symantec enterprise-grade offerings. The contract allows naval organizations to access Symantec-made storage, clustering, security, endpoint management, backup and recovery platforms.

For qualified government entities that need to purchase license quantities without signed contracts or financial commitments, Symantec has developed a Government Program. The Government Program simplifies buying license quantities for use in the country of purchase. Government buyers are freed from formal contracts and commitments, and are eligible to earn increased discounts for purchases that grow with the size of each order. Managing discount eligibility can help agencies meet the budget challenges at all levels.

Symantec continues to find ways to help keep government data secure, earning them a FedPulse winning contractor commendation.
