Winning Contractor: Lockheed Martin to Centralize Australia’s Defense Data Centers

The Australian Government’s Department of Defence awarded a team of vendors, including Lockheed Martin Australia, an $800 million contract to provide centralized processing infrastructure and services. Lockheed Martin has been selected to lead the project, which aims to consolidate Defence’s infrastructure and applications to improve the efficiency and overall effectiveness of the department’s data centers. Defence and Lockheed Martin Australia will partner to deliver the transformed centralized processing environment, which will meet Defence capability requirements to 2022. Winning Contractor: U.S. Department of Defense Awards URS Defense Systems Technical Area Contract

On August 1, 2014 URS Corporation announced the U.S. Department of Defense Information Analysis Centers Enterprise for defense systems technical area tasks awarded the company an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, multiple award contract. The company is one of twelve awardees, and the approximate maximum aggregate value of the contract, which has a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, is $3 billion.
